Code Contributions

iodéOS is an open-source project that thrives on community involvement. Developers are welcome to contribute improvements, bug fixes, and new features. To contribute code, follow these steps:

  • Fork the appropriate repository from our GitLab instance.
  • Create a new branch specifically for your changes.
  • Make your modifications while respecting the coding standards outlined in the repository.
  • Use clear and descriptive commit messages.
  • Open a merge request with:
    • A detailed explanation of the changes you made,
    • The motivation behind your contribution,
    • Any bugs or issues the code addresses.

All submissions go through a review process. We encourage contributors to participate in discussions and revisions during this phase.

Bug Reports

If you encounter a bug in iodéOS, please report it via our community forum. Here’s how to report an issue effectively:

  • First, check for existing reports in the “System & Core Apps” category by searching for topics tagged open-issue.
  • If the issue hasn’t been reported, create a new topic with a descriptive title.
  • In your report, please include:
    • Device model
    • iodéOS version
    • Step-by-step reproduction of the issue
    • Expected behavior vs. actual behavior
    • Any relevant logs, screenshots, or other technical details

Accurate and detailed reports help us diagnose and resolve issues faster.
