iodéOS employs a built-in ad and tracker blocker that utilizes several open-source blocklists to enhance user privacy and security. The primary blocklists integrated into iodéOS include:
These blocklists are collaboratively maintained by the open-source community and are regularly updated to ensure comprehensive coverage against trackers, malware, and intrusive domains. We update these lists at least once a month, with more frequent updates available for beta testers, and soon premium users too.
The blocker offers different levels of blockings:
- Standard Blocking: Aggregates several hundred thousand trackers, balancing privacy with app functionality.
- Reinforced Blocking: Includes over 2 million domains for stricter protection, which may affect the functionality of some apps.
- Complementary Blockings: Options to block adult content, unethical social media, and customized lists (advanced) defined by the user.
- Network Blockings: Options to block Wifi, mobile data, or VPN traffic.
