The launch of the new year was a good one so far. As the first quarter of 2023 comes to an end, we would like to thank you, the community of readers, contributors, beta testers, and customers for making this project alive!
Let’s take a look at what happened last month in April…
Refurbished Fairphone 3 now in sales!
Up until now, we offered the Fairphone 3 only as a new model. But as more and more people become environmentally conscious, the interest in refurbished devices increases. We at iodé are proponents of reducing electronic waste and saving your data. That’s why we now offer the Fairphone 3 as refurbished devices as well.
New features of iodéOS baking & iodéOS 4 (Android 13) to almost all devices!
On the 25th of April, we pushed a new OTA beta update for iodéOS, with a new blocker feature. Some novelties in that regards are coming by the end of May for all of you.
As you may know, iodéOS is also installable for free! We are able to do so thanks to our contributors.

We teamed up for an interview with the french telecommunications provider TeleCoop that shares the same values as iodé. TeleCoop is on a mission to drive the ecological and social transition and we were happy to interview Marion Graeffly, the co-founder of the cooperative. If you haven’t done so already, you can check out the interview here.
iodé in the media
We were both excited and honored to be reviewed by German IT-Security researcher and computer scientist Mike Kuketz. For his article series on Custom ROMs, his community voted, among others, that iodé should be tested. We are grateful about the fair and thorough review and strive to improve on the constructive feedback he provided. You can read the article here.
Also, the French online magazine droidsoft.fr wrote an article about us, which you can check out here.
And finally, iodé was also mentioned in this video by Spanish YouTuber Alejandro Pérez. As you can see, iodé is travelling around Europe!
Again, a big thanks to our contributors, beta testers, and iodé’s community for supporting us and making this project possible.
Your team at iodé.
